🎙 About the Podcast
The Sound of Accra Podcast was established six years ago by Adrian Daniels in January 2020, on the back of running networking events in Accra and launching a failed online platform for Ghanaian tourists, visitors and business people. The show spotlights Ghanaian Entrepreneurs, Founders and Creatives worldwide with the aim of leaving listeners with meaningful takeaways to apply to life, business and career. The mission is to showcase Global Ghanaian Excellence.
Perfect.
2
Good evening guys.
3
um Yes, um I do agree with what Samson's been saying.
4
I echo everything he's saying.
5
um Low barrier to entry.
6
I definitely agree with him on that.
7
I mean, it's so affordable to start podcasting.
8
mean, when you think about apps like Spotify for Creators and Afripods I mean, just like
Samson said, all you need is a phone to really get started and you can build up from
9
there.
10
I'll also say in terms of what's making podcasting a lot more popular in Ghana is that the
industry, well, if there is an industry, has become a lot more mature.
11
So over time you've seen video being more popular and more present in podcasts.
12
So, you know, when I started in 2020, video podcasts wasn't really much of a thing, you
know, compared to now.
13
But now because of social media, you see Instagram, you see the TikTok, you see the clips.
14
more more people are becoming familiar with the art form, with the media form of
podcasting.
15
So what's happening is that more people are interested in getting into it.
16
And as a result, we're seeing more podcasts pop up.
17
But just because we're seeing more podcasts start doesn't mean we're seeing more podcasts
be consistent because there's one thing starts on the podcast and it's another thing being
18
consistent with the podcast because what I like to call the great wall of podcasting is
that most people don't get past seven to 10 episodes.
19
So we are seeing a lot more people start podcasts, which is fantastic, but we're not
seeing enough people continue to be consistent with their podcasts.
20
But yeah, that's definitely one thing as well.
21
And content creation as a whole is a lot more popular.
22
know, one of the easiest ways to get started in content creation is podcasting, you know,
just as Samson said.
23
So yeah, that's what I would say really, but Samson's really, you know, touched on all of
the key points there.
