[00:00:00] Hey guys, what's up? Adrian here. Today I'm going to give you a nice preview behind the scenes into what it's like being a podcaster. So I hope you enjoy the day in the life of a podcaster. Mini documentary if you will. Hope you enjoy it. I want to take you through behind the scenes of my day today. So today we've got an interview with Anthony, who is Shack Express, Ghana's first super app. And then I think at 12 o'clock we've got a meeting with Goldcord.
[00:00:30] They're the biggest podcast network in Ghana. And then at 2pm I've got an interview with Dawn Dixon. She's a serial entrepreneur who has now relocated in Ghana. And then we have an interview towards the end of the day with Anders Babo. So hopefully the day's going to go smoothly and hopefully you guys can get to see the ups and downs and what it's like being a podcaster and all the moving parts and all the crazy stuff. So I hope you guys enjoy this one.
[00:00:58] There's an event tomorrow, isn't there? There's an event tomorrow. Are you going to be that one as well?
[00:01:01] Oh I see.
[00:01:02] It's like a Ghana startup or something.
[00:01:04] My week is like...
[00:01:05] Yeah, yeah, but you're too busy anyway.
[00:01:07] It's crazy.
[00:01:08] Crazy, yeah.
[00:01:10] Friday I have an event at the same time I'm having a Divinity event.
[00:01:14] Crazy.
[00:01:15] This week loads of events.
[00:01:16] Hair, events, events, events, events.
[00:01:19] So many events.
[00:01:20] So I'm thinking on Friday especially, I think I have about three different events.
[00:01:24] No.
[00:01:26] Yeah, but how do you do it?
[00:01:27] How are you running the company and having all these...
[00:01:29] But you've got a team, right?
[00:01:30] I'm sure you've got...
[00:01:30] I mean, we're going to talk about that.
[00:01:32] Like how you systemize the team.
[00:01:33] You've got Ruda, you've got team members in place.
[00:01:36] Yeah.
[00:01:37] We're going to talk about that.
[00:01:39] They do some of that stuff so it kind of makes me...
[00:01:41] Okay, cool.
[00:01:44] And then...
[00:01:44] Yeah, cool.
[00:01:45] Yeah.
[00:01:46] In network as well.
[00:01:47] Wow.
[00:01:48] Yeah.
[00:01:49] So currently we have majority of our military motorcycles are from Kofar.
[00:01:53] And Kofar is a serious company.
[00:01:55] Like, yeah.
[00:01:56] Yeah.
[00:01:56] They do some great...
[00:01:57] I mean, they reached out to me so hopefully we'll have a conversation.
[00:02:00] Right.
[00:02:00] Just speak to Eric or Dela or MK or Daniel.
[00:02:04] They're great guys.
[00:02:05] Great guys on the team.
[00:02:07] We'll have a conversation.
[00:02:08] So it's really, really incredible what you're doing.
[00:02:11] Let me land on buying to switch.
[00:02:13] So it's very affordable, by the way.
[00:02:15] And if consumed...
[00:02:16] That's Cecilia, right?
[00:02:17] If you are looking to switch, they should because then it helps with your price point.
[00:02:24] You know, with this full, you cannot predict when the next full increment is going to come.
[00:02:28] And it looks like every quarter there's an increment.
[00:02:31] But with electric, you get the same...
[00:02:33] Currently, you're selling about 15% to 80%, 18% on our original cost.
[00:02:38] And that 15% to 80% will make it very competitive.
[00:02:40] Yeah.
[00:02:41] Right.
[00:02:41] Like the price competitive.
[00:02:42] So it's very, very important that businesses and people switch.
[00:02:46] And I recommend the likes of Kofar and Wabu.
[00:02:50] Your business owner switch, depending on what kind of model you want to work with.
[00:02:53] Okay.
[00:02:54] Okay, cool.
[00:02:54] So you already have apartments that you recommend to...
[00:02:58] Yeah.
[00:03:00] Yeah.
[00:03:00] So for us, we were willing to go with Kofar and Wabu for now.
[00:03:08] And for those who want an electric motorcycle, they can go with Wabu.
[00:03:15] Motorbicycle, they can go with Wabu.
[00:03:17] Those who want a motorcycle, they can go with Kofar.
[00:03:20] Okay, cool.
[00:03:21] Yeah.
[00:03:21] Okay.
[00:03:22] So there's electric bicycle and then there's electric bike.
[00:03:24] Yes.
[00:03:24] Oh, brilliant.
[00:03:25] Okay, cool.
[00:03:25] There's probably two people of different type of content.
[00:03:27] Yeah, so two different models.
[00:03:29] Depends on what works for you.
[00:03:30] Yeah.
[00:03:30] Some of them are super hyper local.
[00:03:33] Mm-hmm.
[00:03:33] So they're just within like a 5km, 4km, 10km.
[00:03:38] Yeah.
[00:03:38] Right?
[00:03:38] And it's more like a certain neighborhood.
[00:03:41] I mean, we can go for the bicycle or can go for the motorcycle.
[00:03:45] Whichever way that works for you.
[00:03:46] Of course.
[00:03:47] I mean, of course the bicycle, I mean, the cons is you can't go as fast.
[00:03:51] But you don't have to pay any fuel.
[00:03:52] You can go with that.
[00:03:53] Yeah.
[00:03:54] Yeah, probably.
[00:03:54] We don't have to pay.
[00:03:54] Both of you don't have to pay any fuel.
[00:03:56] But what would Tramor's...
[00:03:57] And you're going to charge it.
[00:03:58] I mean, if they go and charge it.
[00:03:59] I mean, there should be some costs tied to that.
[00:04:02] Oh, yeah.
[00:04:02] There's a cost to it.
[00:04:03] So high upfront cost with electric bikes.
[00:04:07] But very incremental in the long term.
[00:04:09] Yeah.
[00:04:10] Yeah.
[00:04:10] So it's just that upfront investment.
[00:04:12] It's just getting possible.
[00:04:13] Yeah.
[00:04:13] Yeah.
[00:04:14] Brilliant.
[00:04:15] Wow.
[00:04:15] This has been an amazing conversation.
[00:04:17] Honestly, I'm really excited just to see where the thing is going.
[00:04:21] Guys, I just can't believe it.
[00:04:22] And we just had Shaq Express over.
[00:04:25] And, you know, we were in the process of filming.
[00:04:29] And battery went out.
[00:04:31] Couldn't believe it.
[00:04:32] We're shooting 4K, you know, for the second time.
[00:04:35] The battery went out.
[00:04:36] I mean, I just can't believe it.
[00:04:38] Right.
[00:04:38] You know.
[00:04:39] So luckily, Anthony's going to come in tomorrow.
[00:04:42] And we're going to re-record.
[00:04:43] So hopefully we can get episode done tomorrow.
[00:04:45] But, oh, it was such a good conversation.
[00:04:47] We're flowing so well.
[00:04:48] Everything is going so well.
[00:04:49] And now we're going to have to kind of re-record it all over again.
[00:04:53] Just because of one battery.
[00:04:55] So my mistake here is not having a power supply for continuous power.
[00:05:02] For shooting the 4K.
[00:05:03] So really upset about that.
[00:05:06] You know, I feel like I may have bent into the relationship a little bit.
[00:05:09] But, you know, I'm going to speak to Anthony and see what I can do.
[00:05:11] But hopefully we can sort this out.
[00:05:13] Let's see what happens.
[00:05:14] 12 o'clock meetings.
[00:05:15] Just finished.
[00:05:16] Just finished a meeting with Yadmin once again.
[00:05:19] Founder, CEO of Africa Global Radio.
[00:05:20] And, of course, Kwadso Asiro.
[00:05:23] Hi, everyone.
[00:05:23] CEO of Gold Coast Report.
[00:05:25] Ghana's biggest podcast network, arguably.
[00:05:28] Conductive meeting.
[00:05:29] Really, you know, filled the ideas and strategies
[00:05:32] in terms of how we can all work together.
[00:05:34] Really excited.
[00:05:35] You know, I think one particular item that we had was
[00:05:38] Salve Accra versus Sincere Accra.
[00:05:41] Battle for Accra.
[00:05:42] So bringing like the business world to media and entertainment
[00:05:46] and, you know, culture world all together.
[00:05:48] I think that'd be really cool.
[00:05:49] And watch out.
[00:05:50] Watch this space.
[00:05:51] Watch this space.
[00:05:51] We've just cooked something.
[00:05:53] Something that we both were very passionate about
[00:05:57] in our own little corners.
[00:05:58] Yeah.
[00:05:59] And to now have come together and the synergy is palpable.
[00:06:05] So just watch this space because something is coming to you soon.
[00:06:09] Go ahead.
[00:06:09] This was a good meeting.
[00:06:10] And like Yasmin said, watch this space.
[00:06:13] It's going to be pretty cool.
[00:06:14] So catch us in a couple of months.
[00:06:16] Yes.
[00:06:17] Yes.
[00:06:17] Yes.
[00:06:18] Yes.
[00:06:18] I think that's about enough.
[00:06:20] So need to head back to the studio.
[00:06:22] Dawn Dixon at 2.30.
[00:06:23] So catch you there.
[00:06:24] Even things like, oh, madame, your purse is open.
[00:06:27] Close your bag.
[00:06:28] Or you have, you know, this is hanging out your car.
[00:06:30] Like just caring about others.
[00:06:34] And then the entertainment.
[00:06:35] I will say I'm a single woman.
[00:06:38] You know, I'm an empty nester.
[00:06:40] I want to have fun.
[00:06:41] I like to go have options to go out.
[00:06:43] It's not so many entertainment options out there.
[00:06:45] It's more mellow.
[00:06:46] I'd say like we're one of the place for if you're a couple or a family, it's a really
[00:06:51] great place to raise a family.
[00:06:52] It's so quiet and calm and clean.
[00:06:54] But if you want to turn up, like it's not a place.
[00:06:57] No, I don't know.
[00:06:58] It's not.
[00:06:58] I'm going to get so bored.
[00:06:59] I love it.
[00:07:00] I'm like, oh, it's so beautiful.
[00:07:01] It's so beautiful.
[00:07:02] But damn, I'm bored.
[00:07:05] Hey, guys.
[00:07:06] Asia from the 7th Podcast.
[00:07:07] Just wrapped up a wonderful episode with amazing, beautiful, talented Dawn Dixon.
[00:07:12] You know, six-time founder, entrepreneur.
[00:07:15] Now she's, you know, taken out of Africa with real estate, etc.
[00:07:19] Comment for you guys to hear this episode.
[00:07:20] Do you want to say anything, Dawn?
[00:07:22] Just check out the episode.
[00:07:24] Listen to all of it.
[00:07:25] And engage with me.
[00:07:26] I would love to meet you.
[00:07:28] Absolutely.
[00:07:28] Oh, guys.
[00:07:29] I'm so ready.
[00:07:30] That was such a good interview.
[00:07:32] That was a really, really good interview with Dawn Dixon.
[00:07:35] I'm really, really pleased with how that interview went.
[00:07:39] At first, I was a bit nervous because I was like, you know, she's not really, she doesn't
[00:07:43] really want to focus on the businesses she's built up in America.
[00:07:46] I really wanted to talk more about that.
[00:07:48] But she's now focused on, you know, real estate in Ghana because she's not focused on
[00:07:54] the businesses.
[00:07:54] She's now focused on having a job, which is quite weird because entrepreneurs usually,
[00:07:59] you want to be entrepreneurs for the rest of their life.
[00:08:00] They don't want to go back to working a job.
[00:08:01] But she was an entrepreneur for 20 plus years.
[00:08:03] And now she just wants to focus on working a job.
[00:08:06] I'm like, it's just crazy.
[00:08:07] But anyway, it was a really good interview.
[00:08:10] At first, I thought I was struggling at the beginning.
[00:08:12] But towards the end, I think the interview gets really, really good.
[00:08:14] So, yeah, so I think in terms of when you're doing a podcast for those that want to do a
[00:08:20] podcast, when you feel like you're struggling in terms of where the conversation should go
[00:08:27] and you feel like you're struggling in terms of, you know, if the interview is going to
[00:08:31] be a good interview, just focus on listening to them.
[00:08:34] And when you focus on listening to them, you may hear a few nuggets that you could use to
[00:08:39] take the conversation in a different direction.
[00:08:41] So, I'm really glad to see how that conversation went.
[00:08:45] I felt, she felt a little bit intimidated in the beginning, but I felt like I relaxed her
[00:08:49] towards the end and she opened up a bit more.
[00:08:51] And, you know, now she's invited us over to our office.
[00:08:53] So, next week when they go to the office, next week.
[00:08:55] So, yeah, let's keep going.
[00:08:58] So, I think now, what's the time now?
[00:09:00] I think it's, there's almost, I think it's 3.35.
[00:09:04] We should be heading over to our final interview of the day.
[00:09:08] And this, I don't think he's picking up.
[00:09:10] He's over in Legon.
[00:09:12] I don't think he's replied to messages.
[00:09:13] Maybe I'll give him a call and see if he's still available.
[00:09:16] Otherwise, maybe we'll have to push, put that back.
[00:09:18] But yeah, so far, so good.
[00:09:22] We've actually, I reached out to Anthony as well.
[00:09:25] Anthony, you know, I think we managed to work out something in terms of like compensating
[00:09:29] him for the interview not being saved on a memory card.
[00:09:33] So, everything's started to look up.
[00:09:35] I'm really pleased.
[00:09:36] All right, guys.
[00:09:37] Stay tuned.
[00:09:38] So, we can talk about it.
[00:09:40] Hey, everyone.
[00:09:41] Agent here from the Salabop Podcast.
[00:09:43] I've finally come to meet the legendary Mr. Anders Barber.
[00:09:47] I've been waiting since 2022 to come and meet your guy.
[00:09:51] Finally tracked him down at Goldman's Barber Shop when it's nice and quiet.
[00:09:55] We've just done a fantastic interview.
[00:09:57] I really, really enjoyed the speaker turn.
[00:09:58] Mr. Anders.
[00:09:59] Thank you very much.
[00:10:01] You're welcome.
[00:10:02] Do you like the words for the people?
[00:10:03] Bro, let's see.
[00:10:04] You need to come to this garage from here.
[00:10:07] Yeah, you need to watch this interview.
[00:10:09] It's amazing.
[00:10:10] Yeah, yeah.
[00:10:10] You know, my brother came in to do me.
[00:10:12] It's so amazing.
[00:10:13] I'm so blessed he came.
[00:10:15] Bro, if you need to find us in Nikon City more, it's exactly lucky.
[00:10:19] Show him around.
[00:10:19] Show him the logo.
[00:10:20] Show him the logo.
[00:10:21] Show him around.
[00:10:21] Show him around.
[00:10:22] I don't know.
[00:10:23] Look at this.
[00:10:23] He's got his own clock.
[00:10:24] You know, the blades.
[00:10:26] Look at this.
[00:10:27] He's got all of this, man.
[00:10:29] He's got all of this.
[00:10:30] Just look at this.
[00:10:32] He's a Zion in the studio himself.
[00:10:34] So get into awards.
[00:10:37] Get all of this in.
[00:10:38] It's just amazing what this guy's done.
[00:10:41] Wow.
[00:10:43] It's incredible.
[00:10:44] Incredible.
[00:10:46] Incredible.
[00:10:48] All right.
[00:10:49] All right, guys.
[00:10:51] So we will catch you.
[00:10:52] Thank you very much for coming.
[00:10:53] I'm going to catch you on the episode.
[00:10:55] You're most welcome, brother.
[00:10:56] You're most welcome.
[00:10:56] All right.
[00:10:57] Okay.
